Salcedo Auctions in association with Forth & Tay, the Philippines’ leading direct merchant of fine wines and spirits, and Mandarin Oriental, Manila, will be hosting the country’s first Wines & Spirits auction on Thursday, 24 March 2011 at 7 pm.

This event promises to be a unique and enjoyable evening with over 50 lots of premium wines and spirits from different countries going under the hammer with the participation and commentary of some of the country’s most respected wine experts.

Prior to the event there will be a tasting of some 100 wines from 12 vineyards in eight countries – Argentina, Australia, Chile, France, Italy, Spain, South Africa and the US. Representatives from select wineries will be on hand to answer questions and share more information regarding the wines they represent. The wines will be paired with a fantastic cocktail buffet prepared by the chefs of the Mandarin Oriental.

Entrance to the event is Php 1,500 per person and this includes the tasting of the wines and the cocktail buffet.

Salcedo Auctions supports Forth & Tay’s advocacy of the responsible use of its products, and its commitment to social welfare issues. A portion of the proceeds of this sale will be donated to the Virlanie Foundation, an institution which over the past 18 years has worked to prevent future physical and psychological abuse of children living in the streets.
