Salcedo Auctions offers buyers three ways to bid: in person at our saleroom, over the phone or through an absentee bid form.

Bidders are required to complete a bid registration form as well as provide a financial guarantee by way of cash or check, or by providing their full credit card details, to secure an auction paddle. Additionally, new bidders will be asked to provide one type of government-issued photo identification (i.e. passport, driver’s license).

A buyer’s premium is applied to the hammer price at the rate of 15% for lots priced Php 350,000 and below, and 12% for lots over Php 350,000. Additionally, value-added tax (VAT) at the rate of 12% is applied to the buyer’s premium.

1. Personal bids

This is the preferred way to participate in the auction, where prospective buyers are able to experience the excitement of competitive bidding. By doing so, they are able to determine the level of interest in the piece they wish to purchase, and respond accordingly. You may print out and fill in the bid registration form and submit it in person during the preview or on the day of the sale to receive your bid paddle. Forms will also be available during those dates.

2. Telephone bids

For lots with low estimates of Php 50,000 and above, our saleroom assistants will be delighted to phone you approximately three to five lots prior to the item that you are interested in to allow you to participate in the live auction at our saleroom. Please note that while Salcedo Auctions will endeavor to execute your bids, it cannot be held liable for any failed bids due to technical difficulties or miscommunication. 3. Absentee bids

Also called “silent bids,” interested parties may complete the details of the piece and indicate their desired purchase price in the registration form provided. Salcedo Auctions will do its utmost to present your bid at the lowest possible amount. As an added service, absentee bidders may override their offers by placing telephone bids.
